One of my friends from UT wrote me. Its amazing how some people simply won't respond to you for a long time. Then they'll suddenly pop back up and write you and tell you how much they miss you. I find it strangely disturbing, but that's the way it goes. I can't say that I don't miss this person, but still, these sorts of things always make me feel a little stressed. It's probably because I view my life from my standpoint. I don't think I do this to other people. In fact, I invent ways for others to stay in my life. Afterall, as you move from college to college, its hard to keep in touch with family and with friends. Somehow, we have to find a way to do such things. Its a concentrated effort I guess. And well, sometimes life is enough that you can't concentrate on keeping your friends in the loop. Anyway, maybe that's not it, but I hope it is. Because if that's true, it means this friend really was my friend the whole time. Anyway, I haven't written much lately. Family is around this week yet again. Its amazing how often family seems to be around. The house is quite a mess. Some rooms are destroyed, other rooms are just filled with boxes. Others are lived in and a mess. Maybe someday it'll be clean and lovable and not ripped apart. I dunno. That's all for now.

Its been awhile since I've blogged. Review is due this week so my chair is sitting in on one of my classes today. Otherwise, it doesn't sound like I have much to do for the review. Updated cv was all that was asked for. I guess I'll send the pubs as well. Haven't been working on the house much. Shoveling seems to have been getting the best of me over the past couple of weeks. Its mostly because the shovel I have is completely broken. I s'psoe its time for me to buy one. I need an ice scraper for my car and some salt/sand for the walkway too. Joyous winter is here! My heat broke this weekend as well. So I found myself waiting around for that to get fixed. I guess I'll get the service plan. I keep waiting for them to send me literature. I guess I'll need to drive over there and figure things out. In any case, that's all for me for now. Stay warm.

The first week is almost over. Reports of heavy snow for tomorrow. I've heard 6inches, 8inches, and 14 inches. I don't think they really know. Elkton is supposed to get it worse than we are. It should be pretty crazy. I haven't worked on my room too much. I've moved everything out of there and cleaned up the basement quite a bit, but haven't gotten back around to working on that room. Yesterday I ate some chinese and then fell asleep for hours! I guess the schedule change was starting to affect me. Although, it wasn't even a complete shift change, I guess its still altering the normal cycle. Anyway, I s'pose that's long enough for now.

Well the first day of classes is over for me. I have ofice hours until 10:30 or so, but really, nobody will have anything to talk to me about just yet. I had OS today and I have C++ and CG tomorrow. It should be a good week. I'm all set on lectures for OS and C++, more or less. There is a bit of touch up that I should do for 101. I'm going to give a handout similar to the one I gave last semester that will break them into the linux environment. In any case, I'm still ripping wallpaper from my house. Perhaps I'll take some pictures so that I can document the progress. That's all for now.

Cleaned the office and working on syllabi for the spring. Two are basically done but I need to put them into electronic format. I was removing wallpaper from the wall of the office at home and the wall "popped" out. I'm trying to figure out if its paneling or what. Perhaps I'll know soon. Anyway, that's all in the life of me.

I haven't been here for awhile. I was away visiting some family, but now I'm back. School starts in a couple of weeks, so I've begun getting ready for that. You know, writing syllabi and the like. The vacation was okay. I spent some time preparing for one of my classes, but otherwise watched movies and played card games and the like. I feel like I ate a lot, so I'll have to spend some time fixing those holiday pounds. In any case, I'm back at work and back in the area. The busy life begins again.
